Effective Date: 2/8/2026
Last Updated: 2/17/2026

This Return & Refund Policy applies to purchases made through SafeClimber.com (“SafeClimber,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) and governs transactions with customers located in the State of Connecticut, United States.

This policy is designed to comply with the Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act (CUTPA), Conn. Gen. Stat. § 42-110a et seq., and other applicable Connecticut consumer protection laws.

1. Overview

We want you to be satisfied with your purchase. If you are not completely satisfied, you may return eligible items in accordance with the terms below.

2. Return Eligibility

Unless otherwise stated on the product page at the time of purchase, physical products may be returned within 30 days of delivery if:

  • The item is unused
  • The item is in original condition
  • The item is in original packaging
  • Proof of purchase is provided

We reserve the right to inspect returned items before issuing a refund.

3. Safety Equipment Policy

If SafeClimber sells climbing gear, fall protection equipment, harnesses, ropes, anchors, helmets, or other load-bearing or safety-related equipment:

  • For safety and liability reasons, used safety equipment may not be returned
  • Safety equipment that has been worn, loaded, altered, or removed from sealed packaging may be deemed non-returnable
  • This policy helps ensure customer safety and product integrity

Defective safety equipment is covered under Section 5 below.

4. Non-Returnable Items

The following items are not eligible for return:

  • Final sale items
  • Clearance items (if marked non-returnable)
  • Digital downloads
  • Online training courses or certifications once accessed
  • Gift cards
  • Custom or special-order products

All non-returnable items will be clearly disclosed prior to purchase in compliance with Connecticut law.

5. Damaged or Defective Items

Under Connecticut law, products are subject to implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose unless properly disclaimed.

If you receive a defective or damaged item:

  • Notify us within 7 days of delivery
  • Provide photographs and a description of the defect
  • Retain original packaging until instructed

If confirmed defective, we will provide, at our discretion:

  • Replacement
  • Repair
  • Refund

We will cover return shipping costs for defective or incorrectly shipped items.

To initiate a return:

  1. Email us at [Insert Support Email]
  2. Include your order number and reason for return
  3. Wait for return authorization instructions
  4. Ship the item to the address provided

Unauthorized returns may be refused.

7. Return Shipping Costs

  • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to our error or a defective product.
  • Original shipping charges are non-refundable unless required by law.
  • We recommend using a trackable shipping method.

SafeClimber is not responsible for lost return shipments.

8. Refund Processing

Once your return is received and inspected:

  • You will be notified of approval or denial
  • Approved refunds will be processed within 5–10 business days
  • Refunds will be issued to the original payment method

Banks and payment processors may take additional time to post refunds.

9. Order Cancellations

Orders may be canceled prior to shipment. Once shipped, orders must follow the return process.

If subscription services are offered:

  • Subscriptions may be canceled before the next billing cycle
  • No partial refunds for current billing periods unless required by law

10. Connecticut Consumer Rights

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under Connecticut law, including:

  • Rights under the Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act (CUTPA)
  • Warranty rights under the Connecticut Uniform Commercial Code
  • Rights regarding deceptive trade practices

If a conflict arises between this policy and Connecticut law, Connecticut law will govern.

Important Recommendation for Connecticut Businesses

If SafeClimber:

  • Stores inventory in Connecticut
  • Operates as an LLC or corporation registered in CT
  • Sells regulated safety equipment
  • Offers professional training or certification

You may also need:

  • A Limited Warranty Policy
  • A Product Liability Disclaimer
  • Terms of Sale
  • Assumption of Risk language (especially for      climbing-related products)

If you'd like, I can draft a Connecticut-compliant Terms of Service with liability protections specific to climbing and safety equipment, which is strongly recommended for this type of business.
